Review: Revlon Brow Fantasy

Hello Everyone,

I have been searching for the perfect Brow kit for soo long, and I think I may have finally found the perfect product, which fills me with happiness to say! I think it's safe to say I have tried most products (apart from the overly pricey ones!) out there, but I've never actually bought anything by Revlon. I saw it in my local Superdrug store and thought why not, turned out to be the best decision ever.

The product comes in two halves; 1. The pencil 2. The gel
The pencil pigmentation is very impressive, so much better than the other products I've used before. I hardly needed much and using a Mac 208 I just brushed the pencil into the brow. Then finally I just brush the brow using the gel applicator to fill in any gaps and add some depth to the brow. The product comes in 3 colours, blonde, brunette and dark brown. I choose dark brown after debating it for a while, it turned out a great match.

Overall, I thought the brows look very natural, yet styled exactly the way I like. I would highly recommend this as it was a good price compared to other products such as Benefits 'gimme brow', yet also has a pencil alongside the Gel.
I feel my many years of searching for the perfect brow product has come to an end, Thanks Revlon!

10 Must See Christmas Movies

10 Must See Christmas Movies

It is officially ONE MONTH until Christmas day!!!!
I don't know whether this post is a bit premature, but who cares, I LOVE CHRISTMAS.
Theres nothing better than to snuggle up with my cosy blankets and watch a christmassy movie with a hot chocolate in hand (and maybe a tonne of quality street!).

Here are my all time favourite Christmas films than I make sure I always watch! (yes I am very sad)

1. Love Actually
A classic, what more to love than a film all about love?

2. The Polar Express
This is adorable, all about a boys journey to visit Santa!

3. National Lampoons Christmas vacation
    Just Hilarious!

4. Elf
A film everyone seems to love!

5. The holiday
So much love in the air, I must have seen this film a zillion times!

6. The Grinch
When I was young Mum bought me a poster of the grinch...I couldn't sleep for days I was so          scared! But... good film.

7. Miracle on 34th Street
This film is so christmassy, really lovely film.

8. It's a wonderful life
I use to hate this film because it's in black and white, but give it a go, its actually the perfect film for christmas!

9. The muppets christmas carol
     A classic story!

10. The snowman
I have loved this film since I was a wee tod. It seems to get better everytime I watch it, is that even possible?

So there are my favourite Christmas films! Have you got any different favourite Christmas films? Comment below :)

November Favourites

Hey guys!

I haven't done a monthly favourites post in agesss, so apologies. Here's all the things I've been loving this month!

1. Baby Lips
I saw this on a blog post by Tanya Burr, and thought I need to own this! It's perfect for winter, as it's a lip balm with colouring, win win. I went for the shade 'pink punch' as it's gorgeous, and has a surprisingly bright pigmentation for a lip balm. It also smells and tastes amazing which is always a bonus!

2. Nail Varnish
This is an old nail varnish, but thought i'd wear it as its such a lovely warm lilac, once again, perfect for the winter months. The colour is called 'prickly pear' 341 in Barry M Gelly range.

3. Rimmel Purple eye shadow

I bought this Maybelline diamond glow in 'purple drama' shades from Superdrug, as I was looking for a cheap purple eyeshadow, to match my outfit. I loved the colours, and bought it because purple really helps brown/hazel eyes stands out. I wore it out for a night out, and by the time i got back late at night, it was still all in place with good pigmentation.

4. Lost

I hate to admit I have already watched this TV series before, but my boyfriend hasn't and wanted to know what all the fuss is about (mainly me blabbering on about it). The first time I watched Lost I thought it was amazing, and so far it's just as good 2nd time round!

5. Giovanna Fletcher books

Giovanna Fletcher is an author and Youtuber whilst also married to McFly's Tom Fletcher (They are an adorable couple with the cutest baby!). Over summer I read 'Billy and Me', and it was so good. It was about a young women from a village (like myself) who falls in love with a rich celebrity actor (not like myself), and all the dramas that come with that relationship. As this book was really good I decided to buy 'You're the one that I want', and it's just as gripping.
I would highly recommend Giovanna's books, they got me back reading for fun again!

How has everyone's November been? Have you had any favourites? Let me know in the comments below :)

Autumn/Winter Shopping Haul

Good Afternoon World,

This morning I had to hand a piece of hideous coursework into University, so I decided to treat myself by going shopping afterwards. Sadly it was raining cats and dogs, so it wasn't as happy a shopping trip as I'd hoped. I did however come home with a few goodies, I'd like to share with you.

Wooly Hat
As it's getting windy and colder each day in Portsmouth, I thought it was time I invested in a warm wooly hat. I'm very self conscious about the size of my head... so I've never had the guts to actually wear a hat in public. In Topshop, I saw this grey wooly hat with a cute fluffy bobble  (like a rabbits tail) on top. I tried it on and my boyfriend said it looked nice, so I bought it.  Hopefully that'll keep my head warm from the so called "hurricane" coming to Portsmouth soon.
Dress
In Topshop I also bought this black dress. I need a new dress for an occasion I have coming up in a couple of weeks and thought this would be perfect. It was however dirty, but I got 20% off - winning.
Hopefully the marks will just come off in the wash.

Scarf
Now I am cheating a little putting this purple check scarf in this post, as I bought it a few weeks ago. However, I am just so in love with it and its perfect for the chilly months coming up.

PJ shorts
You might be wondering why an earth I'm buying short PJ's when its coming up to winter. Well I get soo hot in bed whatever month it is, and the christmassy tartan colour is just gorgeous. I thought why not buy these? They were only £4 from Primark too! Bargain!

Tights
These wooly tights are heavenly. I got them from Primark for £3.50 and they are fleece lined, which feels soooooo cosy. These will be amazing in Dec/Jan months!

Necklace
I bought the necklace from Newlook, it was only cheap and the gold coloured leaves are very in trend at the moment, as well as the necklace adds a bit of colour to my black dress.

Have you bought anything nice recently? Let me know in the comments below :)

Bonfire Night | OOTN

Hey Everyone,

When I was a child we always had a big bonfire party with my extended family and neighbours, but sadly we haven't done it for a few years as the family is rarely all in one place. I absolutely love bonfire night! I love the beautiful, colourful fireworks, writing my name with sparklers, hot chocolates, mums gorgeous homemade tomato soup and the warm cosy outfits.

So, Portsmouth were a little delayed in their firework display and had it last night. The night began with live music from Andrea Faustian (the 2014 X Factor runner up) and then Nathan Sykes (from the wanted). Andrea has a beautiful voice, Nathan not so much.. he just had a load of children shouting "I love you, Nathan".

It's always rather chilly on bonfire night, so I invested in a nice warm scarf, and last year for christmas I got this big black coat. I was in need of a wooly hat, but always struggle in finding one that doesn't make my pea head look more like an ant head Ha. Heres what I wore:

What I wore

Top - Newlook
Jeans - Topshop
Scarf - Newlook
Coat - Miss Selfridge
Watch - Michael Kors
Bag - Mulberry
Lipstick- Mac lipstick "cant get enough"
Eye shadow-  Mac "cranberry" (following the autumnal theme)

I had a wonderful time listening to the live music and watching the firework display over Portsmouth harbour :)

What did you do for Bonfire Night?
Comment below - I'd love to hear

Lots of love,

5 best ways to de-stress

Hello Everyone,

Never have I ever felt as stressed as I do right now. I guess that goes to show I have been lucky up to now.
For me, everything is just building up! The colossal amount of work expected from university now i'm in third year, family sickness, no money to my name (with christmas creeping up makes it even more stressful), and having a low immune system (so feeling so faint every damn winter).
I'm aware that everyone in the world has stress problems at some tim in their life, so I wanted to write a post on the best ways to help us deal with it, as we cant all afford gorgeous spa weekends away!

1) Yoga
I've heard a lot about yoga being a brilliant way to relieve yourself from all the problems a modern world brings. Apparently just doing 10 minutes of physical exercise a day can really help your wellbeing. But as I have no money I found a few yoga videos on youtube, i'll be watching a few more of them!

2) Healthy Eating
When I feel stressed and down all I want to do is eat every doughnut and chocolate cookie in the world. But truthfully, that just makes my skin spotty, which just leads to even more stress!! Eating a balance died is the best way to keep your insides feeling hunkydory.

3) Having 'me time'
Personally, I think I do this, I often like to go to my room and be alone for a while, maybe read my book with my candle burning. But I know for a lot of you, especially those that have children, struggle in having time to yourself. Run yourself a bubble bath, and relax even if it's just for 10 minutes!

4) Acceptance
Sometimes you can't change what is making you feel stressed. For me, I cant change the fact a family member is sick, all I can do is think positively and support my family. I think you should only focus on the things you have control over, if you don't your just make yourself feel even worse.

5) Positivity
Every morning think of what you are grateful for. I'm grateful for a wonderful family, having freedom to make choices and having a wealth of opportunities.

* one last note, I recently read a quote in the bible and I liked it,

'cast all your anxiety on God, because he cares for you'
1 Peter 5:7

Autumn Tag

Hey guys,
I love autumn

for so many reasons; the colours, the warm homely foods, the build up to christmas.

Here's My Autumn Tag...

* Ok we’re talking coffees – what’s your favourite seasonal drink from Starbucks/Costa/Cafe Nero, etc.?

I hate to admit I despise coffee and most hot drinks. But if I had to choose my favourite seasonal drink, I would probably say hot chocolate from Costa, with as many extras as they sell.. the flake, extra cream.. yes please!!

* Accessories – what do you opt for, scarf, boots, gloves?

I'm a killer for scarfs, I have too many to count. Every autumn I like to treat myself to a new scarf, this year I bought a cosy purple check fringe scarf from Newlook. I've worn it every day since.

* Music – what’s your favourite music to listen to during Autumn?
I wouldn't say my music taste changes much through the seasons, I suppose I'd prefer to listen to more chilled out music such as Ben Howard or Ed Sheeran.
* Perfume – what’s your favourite scent for this time of year?
At the moment I am loving my Dolce by Dolce & Gabbana.I bought this perfume last summer in duty-free but have only just started wearing it more regularly. It smells amazing!
* Candles – what scents will you be burning this season?
As I write this now, I have "Amber Moon" by Yankee Candle burning. It smells very autumnal, not quite sure what the smell is though, maybe some hints of ginger and cinnamon?
What do you love most about Autumn?
When I was a child, my favourite part out of Autumn was the lightening of our fire in the lounge, we would toast crumpets and marshmallows on Sunday afternoons, but as I don't live at home anymore I am missing out on that :( I do still love autumn though, I love bonfire night, and the build up to christmas - It's a very exciting time of year!

Favourite makeup look?

I have been using an old MUA eyeshadow palate recently as they have lots of gorgeous gold and brown shades.

Now it’s your turn to fill out the autumn/fall tag.
Let me know in the comments below if you did, I’d love to check out your answers!

Love,
Izzy
